Welcome To Development Services Coordination (DSC)
Development Services Coordination (DSC). is a Non-Governmental Organization registered on 27th April, 2022 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, No. 24 of 2002 with Registration Number 00NGO/R/3177.
However, the DSC has a national registration to operate anywhere in Tanzanian Mainland with accurate and efficient workflow for sustainable development of this contemporary global generation.
CURRENT SECTORS, INTERVENTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Food Security and Climate Resilience
- Conservation agriculture (CA) to address the challenge of climate change, mainly drought.
- Improved, early maturing, drought tolerant seeds of food crops (sorghum and pearl millet) and edible legumes (Lablab, green grams, cow peas and pigeon peas) and non-edible legumes (Canavalia and Mucuna)
- Seed production (sorghum and millet) with TOSCI (Tanzania Official Seed Certification Institute)
- Demonstration and trial plots with TARI (Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute) for learning and dissemination of technologies
- Soil health and integrated fertility management (IFM)
- CA mechanization in land preparation with ripper
- Airtight grain storage
- Grain aggregation, marketing, post-harvest management to reduce crop loss and value addition.
- CA advocacy meetings organized with stakeholders (district and regional governments, researchers, policy makers, ministry of agriculture, religious leaders, NGOs, etc.) to showcase and promote CA adoption.
Community Water Supply
- Capacity building needs assessment and development of capacity building plan for CBWSOs (Community Based Water Supply Organizations)
- Establishment and registration of CBWSOs
- Capacity of registered CBWSOs
- Conduct baseline assessment and end line assessment by using CIT (Competency Index Tool)
- Organize and conduct water quality status to understand basic water quality status of each system
- Training of communities on water treatment
- Rehabilitation of old or installation of new water system infrastructures (bore holes, shallow wells with hand pumps, pipe line, Distribution Points (DPs)
- Clustering of CBWSOs in collaboration with RUWASA ( Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency)
Environment
- Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR)

Economic Development
- Promotion of savings groups using SwE (Savings with Education) and VSLAs (Village Savings and Lending Associations) methodologies
- Promotion of electronic SwE/VSL (e-SwE/e-VSL) with M-KOBA APP
- Online government registration of savings groups
- Cash transfers and revolving loans fund.
- Linking of savings groups with financial institutions
- Business, entrepreneurship and financial management training
- Youth vocational and life skills training
Gender Empowerment
- Training of farmers on gender equity and equality
- Awareness creation on decision making, access to and control of productive resources by women and girls.
- Community sensitization on sharing of domestic chores among men and boys to reduce workload on women and girls.
- Promotion of women into leadership positions
Nutrition
- Training of caregivers on nutrition practices and behaviors
- Training of caregivers on cooking demonstrations
- Promotion of kitchen gardening and horticulture
